What is NLP Sales Training and WHY does it work?

First let me give you a definition of NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming):

Neuro: The nervous system (the mind), through which our experience is processed via five senses:

  • Visual
  • Auditory
  • Kinesthetic
  • Olfactory
  • Gustatory

Linguistic: Language and other nonverbal communication systems through which our neural representations are coded, ordered and given meaning.  Includes:

  • Pictures
  • Sounds
  • Feelings
  • Tastes
  • Smells
  • Words (self talk)

Programming: The ability to discover and utilize the programs that we run (our communication to ourselves and others) in our neurological systems to achieve our specific and desired outcomes.

In other words, NLP is how to use the language of the mind to consistently achieve our specific and desired outcomes.  With that understanding I believe you would be able to get a feel for what I am able to do with a sales organization, their processes and their scripts to increase their success and profit.

NLP Sales Training and Coaching is designed to improve you and your company's performance in every aspect of business. We create our lives and the performances we have by the strategies and beliefs we carry in our mind.  If we're currently not achieving what it is that we want, we're either on our way toward or away from that desired outcome and NLP is the most effective tool to determine and correct that.

NLP Sales Training and Coaching is the only coaching process that not only focuses on your future and what you want, but eliminates at the same time your limiting beliefs and unresourceful strategies from the past.

To put it into the simplest terms, right now you have a business or career that is going in a certain direction. Whether that direction is where you want it to go is beside the point. The point is that it's moving in that path. That path is caused by you - regardless of what you tell yourself, you're the cause of your current success or failure. No one else can take credit for it.

Now your business/career has taken on some characteristics that have brought you to this point.  Your business is the vehicle to get you to where you want to go and you are the driver. This is why you have nobody to blame for your failure but yourself and why no one can take away the credit of your success either -  you are in control.

When we undertake to work with a client we're not just working on his business (the vehicle) we're ALSO working with the employees or owner as well (the driver). This is the single biggest mistake ALL coaching/training companies/organizations make: they either work on the business or the employees/owner of the business but not both of them!

Before we figured this out we would either work with an employee or business owner and set them up so that they were able to achieve their goals only to get a call back in a year stating that they're still right where we left them OR we would work on optimizing a business to be on track to increase its profits 20-30% that year and get a call from the owner stating that the company didn't do any better or any worse than the previous year.

In either case, we had messed up as the coach and trainer. We either fine tuned the vehicle or trained the driver, but not both. When we had only fine tuned the vehicle the "old driver" would get in and drive it as if we hadn't worked on it at all.  To put it bluntly they would crash it again. Yet when we would train the driver they would get in and drive their vehicle hoping to go 90 mph and yet only be able to cruise around at 35 mph. In either case, the results were frustrating for both parties.

Once it had occurred to us that we needed to both increase the horse power of the vehicle and train the driver(s) on how to best handle the vehicle, did we begin to see truly magnificent results. Today as a company, we do not undertake to work with business coaching clients who are not interested on working on both themselves and their business. It's not in their best interest to only work on one and we value each of our clients TOO much to see them fail when it's in our hands to prevent that failure.
